This cruise departs from Wellers Rock Wharf

Roughly 45 minutes from Dunedin city on the Otago Peninsula. (Own transport is required).

Tour Overview:

Enjoy a short cruise focused on wildlife, history and geology. Full commentary provided by skipper and crew.

Experience unrivalled viewing of the exciting diversity of wildlife on spectacular Taiaroa Head, the only mainland nesting place for Northern Royal Albatross in the world.

Taiaroa Head is also home to New Zealand Fur Seals and eight other nesting bird species.

You may also see dolphins, sea lions and a fascinating array of rarely seen ocean birds including other species of albatross, penguins, and also marine mammals in their natural environment.

Hear stories of Taiaroa Heads fascinating military, European and Maori history. Learn about the areas geology and volcanic past whilst you cruise past impressive cliff faces and the South Islands first lighthouse, built in 1884.

Our experienced skippers and crew make environmental learning fun and informative for students of all ages.
